Here is what they had to say about their Greenways Academy student you had experience…
To those who work behind the scenes at Greenways Academy,
Hello! It’s wonderful to meet you through technology-letter! Some information about me is that I’m currently in my sophomore year of high school – meaning I’m 16, and turning 17 once the next year of class starts up in November. I also like to play video games, and I love anime. I have written over 18+ works of just free writing stories I’ve come up with over the past few years, which ties into the fact that my favorite classes are English – which includes any writing classes I’ve had in the past – and science.
I know times as of right now are difficult with this year long and still counting pandemic, and I’m thankful for what you’ve been doing thus far in making my education better than what it would have been in normal school; as well as the fact that it has made my high school experience better compared to what I would’ve had to experience, watching all my friends that I’ve made go down awful paths and make crazy choices I wouldn’t think they’d do.
Again, I’m thankful for everything you’ve done to help me and my education advance this year, and I change it any other way.
To all the workers in education,
I am a fifteen-year-old sophomore. When COVID hit, I was in eighth grade. The summer of my freshman year, my parents disagreed with my previous school’s learning plan and decided to search for other options. They found Greenways. School was boring for me, I’d finish assignments early, and get in trouble for reading in class. Greenways is different though. I can work at my own pace any time I want, and the course list is more diverse. In my freshman year, I took classes in forensic science and criminology because at the time I wanted to be a forensic scientist. Now, I dream of being a diplomat or a lawyer that fights for human rights. I am a book lover, a music enthusiast, and an amateur potterer. I play volleyball and am on the ski team at my local high school. I also take private voice lessons and next year I hope to sing at the honors choir in Carnegie Hall in New York. So I thank you, the essential workers of Greenways who have made this possible. I thank you for investing your time in the enrichment of others. I thank you all for making my future possible. I am forever grateful.
This is to all of the behind the scene staff…
Thank you so much for everything that you do! When I went to in-person school, I never liked to talk and I would always have really bad anxiety and my face would always get beet red if I was called on or a teacher read my work out loud, but with Greenways, I have talked out loud more times than I have in in-person school. I still get nervous when I have to talk out but not as bad as in-person school. I really enjoy reading comic books, manga, and novels. Last year I read 70 books! That is more than I have ever read! I really enjoy running and I made varsity for XC my freshman year at my old high school! Thank you so much for everything you do!
Thank you very much for providing me with education and a school I feel welcomed in.
I am 13 years old (turning 14 in February) and I am in 8th grade. I enjoy art, reading comics or manga, and listening to music. I have been in Greenways for a while now. I used to get bullied in public schools so Greenways helped me feel more welcomed, especially in the Google classroom meetings. Thank you for everything you have done, I appreciate your work to provide us with education.
Have a great day.
Hello. First I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for what you do for everyone in Greenways Academy! I am so grateful to have amazing staff/teachers like you! I first wanted to tell you a little bit about me! I am 12 years old and I will be turning 13 in July! I am in the 6th grade! I love horses. My Dad, when he was a kid, owned a lot of horses, so that is my passion which is to ride horses! I don’t have a horse yet but I am saving and working hard for one! Right now, I have 4 cows! I do 4-H for a hobby and to earn money. Me and my sister are doing it together! This is my second year of 4-H If you don’t know what it is, let me really quick explain it! 4-H is where you get livestock and you raise it to be sold or eaten. I love doing 4-H! But hopefully next year I can buy a horse! When I am older, I want to own a horse ranch and become a veterinarian! My favorite hobbies are walking my cow, reading, painting, and organizing! Thank you for everything you do for this amazing school! Thank you for listening and I hope to talk to you again someday!
Dear Registrars and Patti,
I am in the 5th grade. One goal I am working to achieve is learning another language.
Your work is important to our school! I hope you are well receiving this letter.
Thank you for all of the work you do to make this school year run smoothly. I am in 9th grade. I enjoy reading and being outside with my animals. My family has a small farm and we have 2 cows, 2 goats, 4 rabbits, 2 cats, 2 dogs, 7 ducks, 3 turkeys, and a lot of chickens. I love being around animals and I hope to have a career where I get to spend lots of time outside and with animals. I have attached some pictures of our animals below for you to see 🙂
Thank you!
One thing I learned about myself this year is that I’m very hard on myself in everyday life and in school and sometimes breathing and letting myself relax is important.
I used to think that I didn’t have control. Now I think that I can change the course of my life.” David, Oregon, grade
This year I learned that I have talent that I should be proud of.
One thing I learned about myself this year is that I can get good grades.
I used to think that this was all pointless but now I don’t. I’m more determined in school to learn and get work finished when it needs to be.
One thing I learned about myself this year is that I do really well in online school.
One thing I learned about myself this year is that if I push myself and get help, I can do it.
I used to think that I couldn’t do math, but I can. It takes a lot of effort, but I can do math.
I used to think that I didn’t need anyone but now I think that having people to fall back to is a good thing and is good for your mental health. You don’t have to go through the world alone.
One thing I learned about myself this year is that I am good at persevering.
I used to think I couldn’t do good in school but now I think I can.
